Exegetical Outline for First Corinthians

Here is a detailed outline for Paul’s First Epistle to the Corinthians, attempting to show the continuous thread of thought throughout the 16 chapters of this epistle, as well as the interconnections between all of the verses. It also seeks to use Paul’s own thinking in assigning to the word “body” (Greek: sōma) six different meanings: 1) body vs. spirit, 2) the physical body of Christ, 3) the body of believers, and the individual Christian’s body. These changing meanings of sōma help to serve as an organizing principle for the content of First Corinthians.
